An elegant mid 18th Century George II figured mahogany chest of drawers

An elegant mid 18th Century chest of drawers in an excellent figured mahogany veneer, having four graduated long drawers further ornamented by detailed cast brass swan neck drop handles and escutcheons, the brushing slide distinguished by brass axe head handles, the whole raised on elegant ogee bracket feet.

This is a charming piece with the mahogany book matched and also presented with an exquisite feather banding. The front corners are finished with blind fret panels, similar to designs shown in Thomas Chippendale’s The Gentleman and Cabinet-Maker’s Director, published 1754
