Carrara marble is a white or blue-grey marble popular for use in sculpture and decorative building work and has been described as the epitome of marble: Carrara sculptures include Michelangelo’s David.

The marble is quarried in the city of Carrara in the province of Massa and Carrara in the Lunigiana, the northernmost tip of modern-day Tuscany, Italy.
