A Derbyshire blue john & lemon spar specimen top giltwood centre table, the circular top incorporating an exceptionally vibrant, highly figured circular panel of Derbyshire blue john fluorspar set within a chevron reserve of lemon spar, with eight smaller circles of blue john forming the outer border, alternately laid with parallel lines and radiating circles to match the large centre panel, all within the outermost border of Ashford black marble. The whole top veneered on slate. The top supported on a later giltwood tripod base of later date, English, 19th Century but after designs by Percier & Fontaine.
